Entrepreneur Avery Modlin has led a successful career in real estate and is highly skilled in the above mentioned areas. Avery's expertise in business development, operations, and networking has led him to be one of the most sought after business consultants in the industry.

Who We Are

A self made executive who made his mark on the Manhattan real estate industry by age twenty seven, Avery Modlin is known by his peers for identifying and developing lucrative commercial and residential opportunities that yield superior returns.

In 2000, Avery co-founded and served as Chief executive officer of The Modlin Group. A boutique real estate firm located in New York City. Under Avery's direction, The Modlin Group's private equity group portfolio has invested in assets valued in excess of $3,000,000,000.

In addition to the firm's private equity group, Avery co-led The Modlin Group's residential brokerage division to be the premier brokerage firm to global CEO's, Entrepreneurs, Executives, International/Foreign investors, media and entertainment icons and professional athletes.

Before leading The Modlin group, Avery held the position of senior vice president of a private real estate firm that dominated the boutique hotel market in New York City in addition to owning and managing multi-family assets in New York and Florida.

Previously, Avery held senior positions at The Carlton Group and Haves, Pine and Seligman honing his extensive experience in capitalizing commercial real estate with debt and equity. Additionally, Avery has provided noted developers with consulting services in the areas of finance, development and management.

 

​Avery couples his professional successes with active community and charitable work. He has served as Deputy Mayor and Trustee of Saddle Rock Village in Nassau County, New York, Chairman of the Board and President of the North Shore Hebrew Academy and Treasurer of the Great Neck Synagogue.

  • Providing ongoing consulting in crisis management for 2 real estate firms in New York City.

  • Provided a bridge loan for an assisted living development in Malabar, Florida.

  • ​Facilitated the acquisition and redevelopment of a 200,000 square foot office building in Tribeca, New York City converted into luxury condominiums.

  • A mezzanine loan secured by a 6 building portfolio in New York City.

  • The acquisition of a 250,000 square foot office building in Manhasset, New York.

  • The acquisition of a 130,000 square foot office complex in Eatontown, New Jersey, net leased to the Tyco Corporation.

  • The recapitalization and investment in an 1,840 unit portfolio consisting of 4 apartment complexes in Maryland.

  • A mezzanine and equity investment in the acquisition of a 370 unit garden apartment complex converted to condominiums in Sunrise, Florida.

  • ​The acquisition of a 520 unit apartment complex in Montgomery, Alabama.

  • The acquisition of Dobie Center, one of the premier privately owned student housing facilities in the United States by virtue of its ideal design, amenities and strategic location. The property consists of a 27 story residential tower on top of a resident services concourse that contains a full resident cafeteria, gym computer room, pool, basketball tennis and volley ball courts and social rooms. The entire complex sits atop a 2 story retail mall, which it owns, with direct exposure to the main entrance of the University of Texas. the property also contains a 6 level, 688 space parking garage used by residents, students, university employees and retail customers.

  • An equity investment in the development of a 235 unit high-rise luxury condominium in Jacksonville, Florida.

  • An equity investment in the development of a 300 unit high-rise luxury rental building in Jacksonville, Florida.​

  • The acquisition of a boutique hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

  • An equity investment in the acquisition of 11 shopping centers, anchored by Walmart and Home depot in Puerto Rico.​

  • An equity investment in the acquisition of a 20 building portfolio of industrial buildings containing 2,500,000 square feet in Puerto Rico

  • Represented high net worth investors to analyze, conduct due diligence and structure capital investments in startup companies and existing companies seeking growth capital.

  • Represented investors to uncover corporate fraud in a private business. We investigated, identified the misdeeds and formulated a legal strategy to recover stolen funds.

  • Settled multiple partnership disputes by formulating mutually beneficial business solutions in order to avoid litigation.

  • Advised a real estate firm for the acquisition and financing of 5 Hotels. Handled and structured issues related to the Contract of sale and multiple layers of financing by banks, equity funds and private investors.

  • Represented 2 real estate firms to source and structure partnerships with real estate funds to enable the firms to significantly increase their portfolios.
